Coach Jeanette Pointon had some late injury worries as they took on close rivals review ladies in the Stoke on Trent div 1 match.
Late fitness worries from Defender Lucy Le Page and unavailable Lucy Chadburn gave the Newcastle Coach a selection problem, opting to Move Lauren Beresford into the shooting circle proved to be an inspired decision.
From the off Newcastle played some superb Netball and to the lead early on in the game and never really looked like letting go!
Georgia Reade was in inspired form as she and fellow defender Alex Boughey took command of the circle giving the experienced Review shooters little room to really take a grip of the game.
However the night belonged to Lauren Beresford who impressed through out the whole game with some impressive shooting and ball handling. She was rightly awarded Player of the match.
Coach Pointon said after the game ‘We lost to Review last time around and it was a worry when we had some late illness calls. I had to take a chance on changing the team and the tactics at a very late stage. The girls had a really hard game last time out and I was so impressed with their performance today. Lauren Beresford was outstanding! She and Ami pickerel did a wonderful job working together in the attacking end and the defense we just as impressive in the defense end. We maintain 2nd spot in the league and I am looking forward to our regional game this weekend with relish!
