The team are currently doing well in the local league too and are currently placed 2nd in the Stoke on Trent Division 1. This team will go on from strength to strength’
Rosie Mathews captain added ‘ the squad is a really strong one and we play really well for each other and the club. Jeanette pushes us hard and she has really high standards but we all enjoy playing together and the camaraderie in the team is always great. We had some really tough games but managed to stay positive even when we lost narrowly to Ryland’s. We are looking forward to next years league with hopefully the same result! ’
The cup for the league win will be presented at the ‘Goalden Globe awards’ held on Friday 20th May at the Village Hotel, Walsall.

Newcastle U19’s team were delighted to learn that they had won the inaugural league for the West midlands U19 teams.
Winning all but 1 of their matches with just a narrow 1 goal loss to Ryland’s, the Newcastle squad never looked in any doubt of taking the title.
This is the first year that the squad have played together and coach Jeanette Pointon was delighted with the title. ‘We held trials in the summer for our U19’s side and to be honest we were delighted with the players that turned up.
They gelled together immediately and over the course of the season have become an extremely strong side who play with passion and dedication. The squad includes 5 West midland Academy players, Georgia Reade, Lauren Beresford, Lucy Le page, Ami Pickerel and Alex Boughey and the strength in depth that we have is fantastic.
